Meet Kasper, R&D Simulations Engineer at Magnax – Traxial

Originally from Denmark, Kasper packed up and moved to Belgium straight after graduation to join the team — and three years later, he’s still here, deep in the world of motor simulations and helping shape how our R&D team works. He’s part of the growing international crew based in our Kortrijk office, where colleagues from all over the world are working together on the future of axial flux motor technology. We sat down with him to talk about his path into this field, what his day-to-day actually looks like, and what keeps him motivated.

What does your role at Magnax actually involve day-to-day?

The simulation and optimization of our motor designs, as well as improving both the tool chain and the workflow of simulations.

What’s your approach when R&D work gets tough?

Failing is the first step in research and development. Understanding why is the second. Solving it is the third.

What makes you feel excited to go to work?

Knowing that I have the best colleagues anyone could ask for. They make the challenging days enjoyable and the good days even better.

What would you tell future candidates about working at Magnax?

Don’t be discouraged if you don’t know everything. Learning is part of the job, and there’s always someone willing to help.
