Limburg Native Peter Leijnen Develops the Electric Motor of the Future

April 24, 2021 | Belgian regional newspaper HBVL spotlights Magnax co-founder Peter Leijnen: the Hasselt-based engineer who developed an axial flux motor from his garage that is three to four times lighter than traditional electric motors — and poised to become the new standard for electric drives.

The electric motor of the future does not come from China, Germany, or the US, but from the garage of Hasselt native Peter Leijnen, founder of the start-up Magnax. “Our type of electric motor will become the new standard for the propulsion of electric cars,” says Leijnen.
